Become a Soccer Without Borders Ambassador
The Soccer Without Borders Ambassadors program provides an opportunity for individuals to rally support for SWB in their home communities.
What do Ambassadors do?
- Share the mission of SWB with their community
- Raise funds for SWB projects
- Helps to expand the Ambassador Program by recruiting Ambassadors in neighboring areas
"I really admire Soccer Without Borders and its work. I believe it is an amazing organization that provides underprivileged girls with life changing experiences. I hope my fundraiser raised awareness, but most importantly gave the SWB girls new opportunities that they wouldn't have otherwise had. Soccer is a positive behavior—environmentally, physically and psychologically. Soccer Without borders truly provides a positive change for many youth." -Carly, 2010 Ambassador from Rhode Island
Who are our Ambassadors?
- Our Ambassadors have links to their local soccer playing community (i.e. AYSO coordinators, soccer parents, coaches, teammates, classmates, etc.)
- Our Ambassadors are enthusiastic volunteers who dedicate their time and energy to link SWB and their communities.
- Our Ambassadors are passionate about the potential of soccer to create positive change
What kinds of things do Ambassadors do?
By far the most common path for Ambassadors has been to host an event in their home community, rallying both funds and awareness at the same time. The types of events are very varied, some examples are:
Pasadena clinic hosted by ambassadors Amanda Dietrich, Julia Blanco, and Nicole Bird with guest Alexi Lalas
Ongoing campaigns are also great ways to keep a community engaged over time:
- Kater for Kids- Catering
- Goal-a-thon
- Clinic series
SWB will provide resources to help you brainstorm!
How do I become an Ambassador?
We are not currently accepting Ambassador applications.
Please note:
-Unfortunately we can only work with Ambassadors from North America.
-At certain points during the year, our programs also have specific equipment needs that ambassadors often support. Ambassadors are encouraged to engage their communities in ways that raise funds and awareness year-round.
