New Balance Foundation to Support SWB Boston

Soccer Without Borders is proud to announce that it has received a $15,000 SparkStart grant from New Balance Foundation to support its Boston, Massachusetts program.

Soccer Without Borders uses soccer as a vehicle for positive change in the lives of newcomer refugee, immigrant and asylee youth. In an inclusive, team environment, SWB participants form positive relationships and gain the skills and support they need to achieve success on and off the field. New Balance Foundation’s grant will allow the Boston program to double the size of its middle school program. “With this grant, we will be able engage more middle school youth, particularly girls and youth at-risk for obesity. The grant allows us to meet the steady and high demand for safe and accessible spaces for newcomers in the community,” says Lindsey Whitford, Director of SWB Boston.

New Balance Foundation have been committed for over a decade to inspiring children to live active, healthy lives. Since its inception, New Balance Foundation has worked with nonprofit organizations that are

making a sustainable impact on improving the lives and health of children. Launched in 2014, New Balance Foundation SparkStart is a global initiative focused on improving the health, well-being and self-esteem of children.
