Soccer Without Borders Named an Official Charity Partner of the 2020 TCS New York City Marathon

New York, February 26, 2020 - Soccer Without Borders was named an Official Charity Partner of the 2020 TCS New York City Marathon. The race, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, will take place on Sunday, November 1, 2020, and Team Soccer Without Borders is now looking to recruit fifteen passionate and dedicated runners to make each mile count for SWB programs!

Each runner will be able to dedicate their fundraising to the Soccer Without Borders program location of their choice, or to All SWB Programs, which serve more than 3,600 newcomer youth through year-round soccer, educational support, team-building, and cultural exchange.

Each runner will receive a guaranteed race entry as well as a package of benefits based on their pledge level. To be considered for the SWB Marathon Team for the 2020 TCS New York City Marathon, each interested individual must complete the online application. Each application is reviewed and considered individually and carefully, with special attention to the runner's personal fundraising goal and reason(s) for wanting to join the SWB team.

“Soccer Without Borders is thrilled to be a part of the New York City Marathon’s 50th anniversary as an official charity partner, working with runners to raise funds to benefit the Soccer Without Borders mission of using soccer as a vehicle for positive change, providing under-served youth with a toolkit to overcome obstacles to growth, inclusion, and personal success,” said Trevor Laroche-Theune, SWB Charity Partner Representative & Development Operations Associate. “The TCS New York City Marathon provides an amazing platform for hundreds of nonprofit organizations to raise awareness and funds toward their missions and involve their audiences in engaging in unique ways. We are proud to support our team on their journey to the iconic finish line.”
