SWB Celebrates International Day of Sport & Development for Peace

Soccer Without Borders joins the United Nations in celebrating International Day of Sport and Development for Peace on April 6, 2021. IDSDP is an opportunity to recognize the special role that sport and physical activity has in people’s lives across the world. While the COVID-19 pandemic has made it harder for us to play together or to cheer on our favorite teams, we’ve learned that sport can unify us even when we aren’t able to physically be together.

For more than a year, SWB coaches have shown resilience and creativity in finding ways to connect with participants and create belonging during a time of isolation. This video highlights just a few of the ways our coaches have challenged participants — and each other — to stay physically active and engaged with teammates.

Nearly every SWB program site is now back on the field, enjoying the sunshine, strengthening friendships, and getting active while maintaining the protocols that have kept us safe throughout the pandemic.
