Soccer Without Borders Receives LibertyGives Foundation Grant to Support Greeley Program

Soccer Without Borders (SWB) is proud to announce that it has received a $10,000 LibertyGives Foundation grant to support its Greeley, Colorado Program.

Soccer Without Borders uses soccer as a vehicle for positive change in the lives of newcomer refugee, immigrant and asylee youth. In an inclusive, safe team environment, SWB participants form positive relationships and gain the skills and support they need to achieve success on and off the field. This LibertyGives Foundation grant will allow the Greeley program to expand off-field educational support and tutoring opportunities for participants. “With this grant, we will be able to build the foundation for a robust education program that supports our youth in the classroom and helps them utilize their innate potential," said Ryan Plourde, Director of SWB Greeley.

The LibertyGives Foundation was formed by Liberty Media, which owns a broad range of media, communications, and entertainment businesses. The foundation’s goal is to “support charities that address the needs of underprivileged and at-risk youth in Colorado, with a focus on proactive and preventative services.”

“Through the formation of our pilot tutoring program, we will be able to take the first step in reaching our ultimate goal of 100% of SWB youth graduating from high school,” added Plourde.
