Soccer Without Borders Announces Executive Director Search

Dear Soccer Without Borders Community,

We are writing today to celebrate a major milestone at Soccer Without Borders: our first Executive Director search. This milestone comes at a moment of tremendous strength. Across the organization our program hubs are thriving and growing, our staff is experienced and unified, and our culture is clear and authentic. These strengths rest upon solid organizational foundations, including a healthy financial position and recognition across our sector for the impact of our work.

This is the right moment to undertake the essential task of an executive transition. We are grateful to have had a long runway to prepare and we are confident in the deliberate steps that have strengthened our team and systems ahead of this change. As we activate the next steps of our strategic plan, this transition will enable Mary Connor, Co-Founder and outgoing Executive Director to focus more narrowly on aspects of our strategy that align with her skillset and interests from a new role within SWB. As an organization, we have a long history of adapting our organizational systems and structures to meet evolving needs. We are enthusiastic about bringing on new leadership that embraces the chance to lead SWB forward in collaboration with our talented Executive Leadership team, Founders, and Program Leadership who together have over 100 years of SWB experience.

We are fortunate to have the expertise, guidance, and search power from the Nonprofit Professionals Advisory Group (NPAG) to lead the Executive Director search process. Our approach has been and will continue to be inclusive and forward-looking.
