SWB Colorado in Action

You all are incredible, everything you do for the kids makes such a difference. I can see how it is positively impacting their behavior and how much they love it. The ones who are here every day can't get enough and there a new kids joining every day. And the kids who aren't in the program complain that they aren't in it.

Through in-school, after-school, weekend, and summer programs, Soccer Without Borders Colorado supports newcomer and immigrant youth to overcome barriers to participation in sport, to gain a sense of belonging, and to build social capital. SWB delivers year-round programs and intentionally-designed tournaments across the Denver Metro Area and Weld County, as well as summer programs to support specific newcomer populations. SWB actively participates in the Colorado sports-based youth development community, partnering to ensure that every youth has a safe environment to play, learn, and grow.

Spotlights

Coach Ophi, an SWB participant, smiles while looking at the camera.

Spotlight: Ophi,
SWB Alumna

Ophi, whose family originally fled conflict in Myanmar, came to the United States at the age of four from a Thai refugee camp. Ophi is a SWB alumna, former SWB Colorado Program Associate, and continues to be a proud member of the SWB Community. She was featured by Fox Sports during the 2019 Women's World Cup.

Spotlight: Coach Foundations

In the fall of 2022, SWB Colorado's Greeley site was host to 20 SWB coaches hailing from all around the United States for Coach Foundations, a three-day intensive, hands-on training designed to set up our coaches for success in ensuring that every SWB participant we coach has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

SWB Colorado Partners

Building a more inclusive world requires a shared purpose and a collaborative approach. Our partners and supporters enable us to provide programming to youth free-of-cost, while also providing complementary services to youth and families when their needs fall outside of our scope.
